Brain injury

Any external force that may cause brain dysfunction is known as traumatic brain injury. It may be a direct blow to the head it can also be any type of brain pathology.

Types of brain injuries include; concussion,contusion,diffuse axonal injury, coup-contre coup injury, second impact syndrome, penetrating injury, hypoxic brain injury and open and closed brain injuries.

The common causes of brain injury are assaults, road traffic accidents and falls, and unknown causes.

When diagnosed with brain injury you will be asked to rest until your condition improves, the reasons that lead to the injury should be avoided, avoid driving your car or working with heavy equipment to allow the healing process, do not smoke or take alcohol, take the prescribed medicine only, due to amnesia have a note pad to write things down.
